How to sell unnecessary things?

Perfect order means having the right things in place. However, have you ever climbed into the closet for a shirt, and pull out of the shelf sweater that is not worn for several months? Or, disassembling the cabinets in the kitchen, stumble upon a bread maker, which was used exactly a week after purchase? Maybe you have a full flat of old unwanted furniture, but its out of pity? It’s time to turn unused things into something more useful — money, for example.

How to sell unnecessary things?

So, you have decided which thing is not used by you, but can be useful to someone else. Where to start?

1. Bring the thing to a presentable appearance. If it is clothing — it should be washed and ironed; electronics — clean of dust, if possible, to find the packaging and all accessories; furniture — free from lying in/on it items. It should be understood that the better your product will look, the more people will want to buy it.

2. Take a picture of the thing. Use as many angles as possible and avoid identical photos. It is better to take a picture of all the flaws of the device – it will cause the location and help to avoid misunderstandings when meeting with potential buyers. It is desirable to photograph a garment on the person, with a separate picture of especially remarkable details, for example, beautiful buttons or unusual fringe of pockets. If you are selling a sofa, take photos both assembled and unfolded. General rule: the number of photos of one thing should not exceed 3-4 pieces.

3. Process the photos. Do not get involved in Photoshop – let the thing looks like what it really is, it is only necessary to make the size of the image suitable for placement on the network. The universal rule can be considered the maximum size of the image on the long side of 500 pixels.

4. Come up with the ad text. It should be concise, but giving comprehensive information about the product model, key characteristics, date of purchase, intensity of use, cost and reason for sale. For electronics, it is desirable to give a link to the manufacturer’s website. Do not forget to specify where it will be more convenient to meet the buyer, and for large things — whether you need pickup or you are ready to deliver the goods yourself.

5. Place an ad. Sites, free ads, for example, slando.ua, irr.ru and avito.ru require registration, after which you can place unlimited number of ads. On the Internet auction Hammer can be assigned a starting price and wait for the end of the auction, or immediately indicate the desired amount of remuneration. Also, if you keep your blog in a LiveJournal, do not forget about thematic communities, for example, ru_market. City forums are also suitable.
